The Watcher
A full moon shines down
And illumines the place
An owl makes a kill
Without leaving a trace
A hare makes a bolt
At a break-neck pace
Whilst I just watch in silence.
A dog-fox calls by
Seeking to eat
Padding the ground
With sturdy fore feet
And as dark clouds gather
Finds well prepared meat
Whilst I just watch in silence.
Then a vixen appears
As the clouds break to rain
She feeds to kill hunger
Easing her pain
Thus nothing is left
Not a crumb nor a stain
Whilst I just watch in silence.
