Eyes Became Opened

poem by: Antoinette Pringle

I became opened when I saw the nakedness
of what lies behind a comforting smile
that states agreement, which is truth?
Honesty is the best policy or are
hidden sphinx the way to conquer
Reality. I saw that simplicity could not
Be changed, for me this is happiness
For others it is not enough. Because
reality appears unstable, are they not
Afraid of the bottomless pit?
Or do they not see it
If they see it and they are not afraid
They must have wings or believe
that they do. One unstable thrust
of injustice will bring a reality
not yet seen to the naked eye
It all began with the eyes of
Desire, my eyes are opened
To all of it now. But can one
pair of eyes save the world?
the answer is simple I need
all eyes on me and maybe
They can see the way to
Happiness True.
