Tequila and Salty Tears

poem by: Annie Kirby
Written on May 28, 2019

Love is not
Kind or considerate
It shows up when
It damn well feels
Like it

Then one day
It is gone
Not even a goodbye
Just a kiss that
Tastes of salty tears

Time to let
The dreaming go
Disenchanted, neither
Caring nor loving
Doing or risking

But as luck would
Have it - there's
Tequila to chase the
Salty tears
