Watchman

poem by: Andrew Shepherd
Written on Feb 11, 2019

‘Who goes there?’, shouted the night watchman
His lantern glowing orange in the mist
‘It is I’, said the mysterious figure
‘Listen to me with your ears of ice as I growl and loudly hiss!’
The watchman took out his pistol
‘I will shoot you if you come near’ he said
‘Shoot me!’ shouted the mysterious figure
‘It doesn’t matter, cause I’m already dead!’
