The Climb

poem by: Sarah Feldmann
Written on Nov 30, 2018

Life is full of hills and valleys
The hardest part of reaching the top of the hill is when you fall all the way back down into the mud
You just want to lie there with all your anxiety, failures, stress, and shortcomings
But in the end, when you’ve reached the top, you see the full picture, all the reasons for trails
The climb has changed you
It has revealed your truest potential
And as you look back down at the valley, you don’t regret the long and difficult climb up
You’re just thankful you didn’t stay in that valley

Is this my life's story? ha ha. So true. Very well written. I like the metaphor of the valley. You gain a certain vantage point once you leave the valley and stand on higher ground; it is only then that your arduous journey makes sense.
