Fearless Protector

poem by: Sarah Feldmann
Written on Nov 06, 2018

I stood in front of you, so you could be safe
While I took your enemy’s fire
I gave you my coat in the cold, so I could see you smile
While I froze in the frigid winds
I gave you my umbrella in the rain, so you could be dry
While I was soaked to the bone
Why do I do this? Because this world brings enough pain and if I can do something to take it away, my suffering and scars shall not be in vain
