Release

poem by: Chel Scott

The bloodlust I saw in his eyes,
had me believe that I was dead,
I heard the scream, and it was my own,
heart pounding, I filled with dread.

Have you ever gazed into evil eyes,
filled with disgust and with raw hate?
It makes you feel like this is the end,
makes you feel he has sealed your fate.

But the spilled blood now, is on my hands,
my mind is in disbelief,
I thought my days were over,
instead, I have given his black soul release.
