Nightmare

poem by: Chel Scott
Written on Aug 16, 2018

I'm running up the spiralled stairs,
to which there seems no end,
I'm screaming down the corridor,
that does nothing but curve and bend.
I know there's something chasing me,
but I can't stop to see its face,
all my senses have disappeared,
vanished, without a trace.
I'm twisting and I'm turning,
there's howling in my head,
and suddenly, a sigh of relief,
as I realise I'm safe in bed.
