Average Day

Average Day

It’s 7am.
I’m waking up
And roll over to see
Her.
Lying next to me,
Sleep in her eyes,
Blankets tucked under her.
She looks so perfect.
I kiss her forehead
And go make coffee.

It’s 1pm.
We go out to lunch.
I tell her to order
Everything she wants.
I know it’s expensive,
But seeing her beautiful smile
Is worth every penny.

It’s 11pm.
Bedtime.
She turns off the light.
Lies on my chest.
I scratch her back as I watch her
Slowly fall asleep.
I kiss her head, and
Thank God I get
To spend all my life with
Her.
And that thought alone
Is enough
To immediately put me to sleep.
Wrapped up in her,
Blankets over us,
All night.
