Sun still rising

poem by: Jay Shades
Written on Mar 20, 2018

We never had long left the sun was rising on our eventful night.
How your eyes locked on mine blurring out the other people the whole time.
I was yours, you were mine.
Thriving off the shenanigans caused by the type of lowlifes we engaged with you couldn't help but laugh.
Throwing our sly comments to mix the pot and see what broth comes at the end was our forte.
Time dwindles on and the sun is still rising.
Lucid thoughts loom in my mind of having my way with you.
Still the others wait in anticipation of what more freebies can be extracted .
We know what's there and whats left .
The sun is still rising.
