Screams of the Soul

The pale light embraces the darkened corners
My reflection greets me with a sinister grin
Ignoring reality and it's predefined borders
Seemingly penetrating through this veil so thin
Our eyes meet, telling tales of pure enmity
A bittersweet ballad of self realization
Longing to forsake this darkened identity
To escape the eternal anchors of damnation
Within me does this eternal war commence
Self hatred coupled with a spirit of heaviness
A whirlwind of emotions continue to condense
The wicked laughing and mocking at my expense
How can I continue to perpetually fight this
Revert this fate, my heart screamed and pleaded
It seems I have grown to despise my own likeness
A piercing gaze speaks, no words ever needed
