Where Are The Days?

poem by: Candace Cox
Written on Jan 18, 2014

Where are the days?
The days that my parents thrived in
When gas cost 2 dollars per week
Life was simple, kind, and meek.

Why must I live now?
In this time where life is up for debate
Every heart is full of greed
Everyone's up to some selfish deed.

Can I not go back?
To the days when freedom was free
When I wasn't demanded to oblige
To this materialistic way of life?

This sounds like me. I am not into all this tech stuff, not the sky rocking prices because everyone wants to be rich. Take care. Janet
