Letting go, I release

poem by: Meri Torres
Written on Jan 03, 2014

Letting go means I forgive all that has happened
Letting the past go, realizing it is over and
moving on. I have no control over the situation
I only have control over myself. Not having
hate in my heart will release me from the pain
It is necessary to let this go, taking back the
power I once gave you. Fear is no longer holding
me back. I release myself from living in the past
Why be fearful of letting go? Letting go of
something I never had. Releasing is freedom.
Therefore I release, release the hold you had
on my heart.

Sad. Sounds like a woman that's been hurting for a long time but now has gotten the strength and courage to release the other person and move on. Like the way it flows. Good poem. "Clarksdalepoet"
