Locked in a Language

poem by: Scribe Granted

Carefully writing and learning new words for perfect expression from the dictionary
Each word is a hunter with specific skill, new help is enlisted when expanding vocabulary.

Working together to capture minds and conjure brainstorms
Proud to be etched on paper and used in various writing forms.

Prepared to be read, the words gleam on the page but are met with surprise
Locked in language, rendered nearly useless, unregistered in the reader's eyes.

In new terrain, the hunters scramble in static to be understood,
Locked in language, the reader's mind, like stumbling in dark unfamiliar woods.

All the intricate details, careful choice, leave little understanding,
Found locked in language is discovering a whole universe for expanding.

At first, trepidation, it is daunting for sure,
But hopefully it will bring new worlds to explore.
