After "The Other"

poem by: Theresa Taylor
Written on Aug 11, 2016

I think The Other needed to happen to me
I have survived what almost killed me
I don't have to chase anyone
To prove that I matter anymore
Thus, you walk tall and directly towards me
We will meet in the middle of love and action
Exactly at the place where freedom and imagination become real
And these words will drift into the night air
Becoming as disembodied as the clouds covering the moon
Because actions prove who someone is
And one day, I will be more than just "enough"
To you
