Australia day 2016

Australia day 2016

In the sea of refugees
Constituted from many races
I bow down before you
My Sweet Stepmother:
Australia,
Your wisdom -
Accepted
Nurtured
Educated and raised me
To be an ambassador
Of reconciliation
Amongst your people

When I approach you
On the bridge of dialogue
Look for our similarities
Not the differences -
Like the Redwood
Link your roots with mine
To be the weavers of reconciliation
Amongst the people,
Don't let my accent or colour
Distract you -
We're destined
To be the Light on High,

Don't ask if I like your country
The Landlord is Australia
Nurturer of the critical mass -
The avalanche of reconciliation
Amongst the people,
Our gravitating inferno
Of Love for Australia
Shall unite its fractured parts -
This renewed pulsating statue
Of Oneness - must give birth
To an incorrupt government,
To be the Crown of Unification

We have a common link, as I too hail from the land down under, enjoyed the poem, well written.
