Importance of Friendship

Make me smile, why don’t you tell me something good,
Don’t cramp my style, saying something you think you should.
Be a true friend always, and don’t ever walk away,
Tell me what you are feeling, each and every day.
Forget me not, and judge me not, the two go hand in hand,
I am here for you, through thick and thin, never to disband.
Two heads are better than one, and that is simply true,
Two hearts are better yet, when troubled times pass through.
No man is an island, where solutions can never be found,
Trying to make it on your own, when trouble does abound.
Appreciate those in life, who remain your loyal friend,
For they will remain present, even after the hardships end.
A smile is contagious, as it spreads like wild fire,
Encouragement provided, even when times are dire.
The tender words of a friend, when consolation is the goal,
Will directly enter your heart, and will touch your very soul.
Love is always first, and should be held in the highest esteem,
Try to support those around you, adding confidence when they dream.
For life will always assume the worst, making our limitations known,
The last thing we need is proof, of prior lessons we have been shown.
Support us please when you disagree, and when not seeing eye to eye,
It’s not important who’s right or wrong, just laugh with us and sometimes cry.
Emotional support is so necessary, so our survival we can achieve,
And when we get stuck, with no answer in sight, try to offer reprieve.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but not priceless as is a friend,
For it can’t offer comfort, lend a hand, nor be there for your ear to bend.
Thanks to those of you, still by my side, after the waves came crashing down,
You’ve offered me encouragement, so I can wear, a smile instead of a frown.
