Hands

poem by: Stephen Westerland
Written on Jul 13, 2016

I think hands are incredible things
Clapping, feeling, or just wearing your rings
We use them to hold things, or even when we talk
They stay by our side, sometimes swing when we walk
Everyone’s hands have their own personal trait
Be it comforting someone or lifting a weight
Good for caressing, with warmth they can hold
Two tools offering help to the young and the old
Used for creating, or working the lands
This is the amazing thing about hands
So next time you look at your hands and your fingers
Think about the wonderful future that lingers
For people all over, from many different lands
Are blessed with these tools, these wonderful hands.
