Son of the shadows

poem by: Dean Hutchings
Written on Aug 19, 2015

Oh son of the shadows
A morcel to spare
Of what's over there
Where grass is green
Where no love bereft
Light shines through
A glass shoe
And upon my wall
A rainbows shining hue
Which used to glow bright
Before the shadows
Brought in the night

A heaviness bestowed
Upon altars of truth
Which lay underground
Waiting to be touched
Calling out to be known
But shadows blind
Till there harder to find
As shadows of mirrors
Do show the way
Time and time again
Back to where grass is green
A shadowless son
Breaths again
Awwww
