Mars is on the Market again

I'm off on a trip, I wont be back
I'm going to where the soil is red
Its a whole new world, a brave step
But what does the future hold, what will we get ?
What will we get ?
Ive no idea, i've not got there yet

A scientist he said to me, we'll build a new world
A vicar said, we'll invent a new god
A businessman said i'll sell it all
A politician said i'll rule you all
A lorry driver said i'll move it all
An oilman said i'll hold you to ransom because I can
I said this aint what I signed up for man

I've been 10 years gone, they're throwing a party
Its in the church, the one by the clock
everyones invited, the great and the good
The king will be there and so will god
What have I got ?
The vultures are taking it all so not a lot

Its all just a lie, uncharted wasteland another starbucks to build
Rewrite the bible, you know god created another world ?
Just another place to stick a flag, more armies to wield
Given the choice I would just get up and leave
Now i'm embroiled in the webs that they weave
Theres no turning back
Gonna go down the gun shop, buy a colt and shoot myself in the back
