Last Time?

poem by: Samantha Johnson

Give it up let it in
Feel it one more time
Shoot it up throw it back
Take another line
Soak it in give it life
Consumes it almost wins
Here it comes let it in
Hands are up I give in
This is the last time

Gotta move but gotta stop
It’s all upside down
Wrong way up inside out
There’s a smile and here’s a frown
Don’t know where I’m going
God knows were I’ve been
It hard to let the good deeds
Differ from the sins
This is the last time

Tomorrow is another day
Justified by time
I’ll be there to see it through
Just throw me a line
Taken in the biggest strides
The circle it’s complete
Once again I throw my hands up
Admit defeat
This is the last time
