I've Got God

poem by: Elizabeth J White
Written on Apr 16, 2015

I've got God, he is mine, he said he'd love me all the time
I am sure his love is pure as love can be.

Then On one morning without warning, love came calling, calling me
and his name was the Prince Of Peace.

I need'th tell you what he said , In the word It's written red
It's the gospel, no other word will do for me.

You should have seen him as he came, for you and me he took the blame
for our lives for our sin and for our shame.

Oh it was done for fallen man, to fulfill salvations plan
If he had to do it again, I know he would.

My hour is late my night is warm, I am a bundle beneath his arms
no fear of where I am going all is at peace
I see mom and dad with out stretched hands waiting for me.

Now they have closed life's heavy doors, I'll never live on earth anymore
but I love the golden streets and crystal shore
