What To Believe

poem by: E.J. Waling
Written on Mar 06, 2026

What to
believe?
Stories.
Human
stories.
Countless.
Since the
beginning.
Trying to
make
sense.
Ancient,
still holding
sway.
Spun up,
laid out.
Dogmatic
in nature.
Human,
by definition,
limited.
Finite
understanding.
Held high
as universal
truth.
Narrative
driven.
Enveloping
comfort,
control.
Holding
at bay
fear,
trepidation.
Human
realities.
Human
nature.
Human
understanding.
Limited
in nature.
Holding
on.
Human
creation.
Nothing
more.
