WHAT IF I WERE YOU – WHO AM I Impressions You may not know me, I may not know you That may be true, so what else is new If you are rich or if you are famous, I am you I would be all over you just to fit in, you see I might even pretend to be you for a flat fee Oh, foolish me, making you more precious than me People are laughing at me, but I so want to be you And I will do anything for you to be with you You have achieved merit, and your hard work is posted I fail myself when I envy you and get myself wasted Your glory shines in my mind's eyes, you’re divine If I could be you for just a moment, what would I find A life of luxury or just a head full of old wine No, sir, that isn’t no walls, just a puppet lost its mind Yes, following you has been my greatest downfall Caribbean Poetry poems / Raw Energy Kenvil Atkins Lewis Timeless Poetry Book 8

I see that we are somewhat kindred spirits: I used to envy the lives of the rich and the in-famous. The more I learned about both truth, fiction and a haphazard mixture of both of them. The less I desired to either by like them, or envy them or even replace them.

Yes, you have separated yourself from their pup-petering devious world of influence and no longer look at their world wearing 'rose colored glasses." I took mine off a long time ago..
