WAR OF THE ROBINS

They came prepared for war please don’t ask me what for
Yes what I saw I relate that’s for sure and nothing more
They form a little band all converse near the back door
Pointing to the light fixtures they planned to rebuild there
I made it clear to their leader that he has to take it elsewhere
Once is enough and twice is an offense warrants a defense

How they quarrel and curse looking me straight in the eye
Deciding if and when I should die the leader asks them why
Saying out loud my guilt is trespassing and destruction of property
But what should I have done at their house was to rubbishes
It needed to be relocated and for that, I could hardly wait
And do not be late today is the day to evacuate birds and nest

All day they complain about moving to a different part of the porch
Voweying to take revenge on the brute that destroyed their nest
They collected an army of robins and march them up due west
I stood my ground no tear could be found I had to pass the test
The robins vow to continue the fight as they all flew down south
I will never forget the war of the robins a nest above my porch
