A Million Shades of Grey

poem by: Rhys Thomas
Written on May 07, 2023

The morning comes
And the haze descends
All the colours die
To a million shades of grey

I lock eyes with them
The person in the mirror
Their eyes let me see
That they are not me

They exist inside a copy
Of what I'm told is my body
But that doesn't make them me

I exist inside a copy
Of what is their body
But I know it doesn't belong to me

The world is distorted
Nothing but grey
I can't feel a thing,
Because I am not real

I am not real
