Memory

I went to a place in my dream
I'm sure that I was dead
A place filled with dewdrops of lavender from a bed of rosehips

A broken stone wall I climbed upon, the sun shining so gently through the vines
To barely touch my cheek but a kiss and watch again where it resides

Terraced houses with not a whisper but the flicker of children's laughter,

Jumping, I smiled in the lavender...looking for them...

But I was alone there, even in the vision, as if it were telling me something...

I knew that I'd awake,
Possibly remembering nothing

But no, the terraced houses call to me
Even in my waking dreams
The sun secret, lavender rosehip
Calls out to me from within

I've been there before, I can feel it
A place more familiar than here
Those rosehip teardrops roll down me
A memory that is not so clear

Sunshine and lavender wall jumps
Perfume making petals
Hidden coves and magical stones

So free and me I felt
No fear or purpose to fret for
Peace in this place I'll never forget.
