A perfectly ruined boy

poem by: Kelsey Tran

There once was a boy
His body made of glass
Though he was always filled with joy
He wanted to be a painter

He tried to paint
But he was always put down
Put down by another
Another whom thought he was a saint

There once was a boy
His heart made of gold
and he was always filled with joy
He wanted to be a drummer

So he tried to play the drums
but to his dismay his hands were too fragile
Now not only was his dream crushed
he was also being made a fool

There once was a boy
His soul so pure
He always seemed to be full of joy
But this boy was done

Done with the lying
and the bullshit
He is tired of dying
Dying on the inside due to others

There once was a boy
His smile now faded
Used to be so full of joy
Now this boy is gone

Gone from this world
do to so many others
They ruined his spirits
his heart of gold
and broke his body made of glass

There once was a boy
They clouded his head
with thoughts of suicide instead of joy
Now he lay in bed

Forever he now lay
his perfect smile gone
He has been slain
By mankind
