THE SUN AND THE CLOUD

poem by: Fadrian Bartley
Written on Feb 08, 2018

A shallow place without stars
Without moonlight
And no aroma of night flowers

The smell of Eros care less
And the flame of desire goes out
Because this night is cold

And the cold is embarrassing
Not saying a word
Both argued

The day was moody
And the night comes with unpleasant taste
Still not a word

Tonight is different from the others
Unless apologies introduce itself
Something magical is happening

The radio is on and Forever is playing sung by Mariah Carey
Memories are powerful
Bringing back both stars to the time of their eclipse

Sweet words are razor blades
Cutting through solid hearts
Four eyes participate
And legs in bed become crossword puzzles

Differences are no more
7am is waiting for a pleasant good morning
I wonder what the sun will say to the cloud?
