I'm sorry babe

He is so handsome
her friends use to say
as they all gather in the church 
on her wedding day

but soon as the honeymoon was over
the horror show begin
and he would abuse her
after he comes home from drinking

then he would say “I'm so sorry babe, "
it won't happen again
and she would give him one more change
because she loves him

The phone rings, it's her mother on the line 
and she let it go to voicemail
she couldn’t talk to her 
because crying had her voice to frail

it’s one week now 
that she hadn’t been outside
the marks are going slowly
but it’s too clear to hide

she hides the bruises once again
by putting on long sleeves
then she tells herself that she had enough
and this time, she will really leave

But then he sees her packing and
and he begs her to change her mind...
With teary eyes, he promises her 
That it will end this time.

"I'm sorry babe," he whispers to her
As he wipes away her tears
He wraps his arms around her waist...
Her sadness disappears.

But the next night; he stumbles home
With whiskey on his breath
And suddenly, his gentle eyes
Have turned as cold as death...

She begs him not to hurt her
But a stranger he's become...
She screams for him to let her go
Yet he has just begun.

She cries in the corner of the room
Until the sun comes up
One more time his promise was broken
When he said that abuse will stop

still, in the morning, she will find
More bruises left for her to hide
She'll cover up that new black eye...
"I'm leaving," she will decide.

But he will trick her once again
and he will lie to make her stay
And she would change her mind again
 still hoping that he'll finally change someday.
