My beloved darkness

poem by: Chris Cleverly
Written on Jan 30, 2018

Where is my beloved darkness,
dying in the sky.
Shades of blue penetrate
the blackest time of night.
Why must you go and leave me here
facing horrors yet to see.
Don't slip away, just one more hour,
one more embrace, then sleep
