Helpless Brother

poem by: R.T. Aquinas
Written on Nov 09, 2017

To see a sister in such pain
Brings to me so much shame
That I cannot help her
For I am too weak
Yet I can see the tears
As they roll down her cheek

I ask not the reason why
But I see that she does cry
I love my sister with all my heart
I pray we are never apart
I want to help her so much now
I want to but I know not how

She forbids my hugs and holdings-tight
But as I reflect upon it this night
I desire to help her however I can
Though we are not related through blood,
I love her and take her sisterhood.

Sometimes all we can do is just be there for when she wants the comfort and love. And sometimes, all we can do is pray. A writing full of emotions... Janet
