The Working Relapse

poem by: Jerremy Kirby
Written on Sep 13, 2017

I'm scared poor and broken
Under a bridge while the rain touches ground around me
My feet caked with the filth of absolution
My sins lifted but I'm still here
Drag the lake and find my last body
The last remnants of a man that used to be
This storm wont pass but I'll carry on
The callous winds of disaster behind me
I'll burn out with the setting of the sun
No more room for the damned under the bridge
Move along to make way for the slaves
Move along and wander out in the rain
