Mum, and Dad....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on May 19, 2017

"I want our lives to be a lovely memory,
that our children can recall,
the laughs, the fun we lovingly shared,
I want them to remember it all.
With the opening of presents at Christmas time,
and the screams of joy at play,
to the sounds of happiness, and smiling faces,
oh, I want them to recall each day.
The pure pleasure we felt watching our two children grow,
seeing all the fun they had,
we must be the proudest of parents,
truly blessed being Mum, and Dad.
There is also our lovely grandchildren, Rachael, Jack, Charlie, and Joe,
including our Great granddaughter Hallie,
it's been brilliant! watching them all grow.
As they all walk their separate paths through life,
and with us both being there from the very start,
it's so nice to see them all happily leave the nest, and we're so proud to have played a part."

It's nice when they leave the nest, but many are left with the empty nest feeling. I don't think that is happening with you Frank, you are keeping yourself busy writing lovely poems like this, I wish you many years of happiness with your beautiful family and keep up the good work.
