Time Heals

poem by: George McLaren
Written on Jan 08, 2014

Time heals they say, but they don't dwell
In the time lapse that caresses Hell.
A pleasure picnic in the park
Is Purgatory after dark.
Life's struggles are a feast for kings
In comparison to Death's mighty stings.
They numb the senses so you survive.
Not Dead; not comatose; Nor alive!

I really like this poem. Brings into play the great debate, does time heal? In a sense for some it does, providing they are not dwelling in the time lapse that caresses hell. Love it, well done George.

I have been in this place and your description fits well. Heal? Naaaa....You just get past the overwhelming pain to where you can live and move on. Janet
Candace Cox commented:
This poem is very beautiful, pain, and trying to heal pain, is something we can all relate to.
Milton Robertson commented:
If you dwell on it, it will eat you alive. deal with and thrive. With the Lord and time you will heal. Your thinking has everything to do with it, but it will take time. and it's water under the bridge.
Christopher Russon commented:
After dark times often leads to light. Often after life struggle.we become stronger . Well written poem.

Time never heals. You just learn to bear the constant pain with time.
