A GHOST IN A SHADOW

poem by: Chris Cleverly
Written on Mar 31, 2017

A place between dreams
of sentiments to quell
fragments of silence
pierce the living hell.
Lost are those who know
the cold and dark of time
true substance of horror
cruel emptiness to hide.
Leave me sorrow now
go calmly from despair
slowly into daylight
quiet without fear

I know the feeling all too well Chris and I feel the pain in your words, it's a dark place but the human spirit is strong and there is hope with each new day, great write.

Thank you Cecilia, allways nice to read and feel the positive outlook in your comments.

I like the rhyme. The message feels familiar

Thank you Ellen, much appreciated
Delve Deeper commented:
The few peaceful moments when the head quiets, the only solace is time heals all wounds.... you don't forget.... it just seems a little less painful every time you forget not to remember. Unfortunately there is no magic wand so the best anyone can do is try to focus at the tiny light at the end of the tunnel and hope to reach it before the memories get to them. It's a very relatable write and so beautifully written too.

Thank you Delve Deeper, you seem to understand exactly what I have tried to write.
