Spirit of Religion

"Spirit of religion"

Spirit of religion,
The one who preaches law,
Deceptive are your teachings,
Forgetting grace for all.

The praise band plays the music,
To worship Christ the King,
But then you say, "Don't lift your hands,
It's not the proper thing."

Your rules and regulations,
Those things we all fall short,
Are just those ways to keep in chains,
Those burdens of the lost.

One day you'll pay for lying,
In torment you will live,
Forever in the darkness,
Reminder of your sin.
