The Dying Evergreen

poem by: Paul Goetzinger
Written on Dec 23, 2016

Prickly needles protrude elegantly from ambrosial boughs
Glutinous latex pours generously from hallow wooden cracks
Majestic pinnacles soar lofty above canopy trolls
Progeny’s drop in peaceful stillness surrounded by motherly guardians
Eroded timber cracks under duress, crashing to earth to nourish creations infants
