Love of the land

poem by: Andy Wilden

Hear the beating heart of the earth,
Whisper and be intoxicated with her sweet scent.
Every beating heart, stone, and waterways her veins,
Feel the love she breathes, always permeating your soul.
Open you heart, mind, body to her wonders,
Let not your darkened heart be wallowed with grief,
She lies on the bank of your soul, beckoning you ever closer.
Feel her waves of love embrace you, surrounding your heart,
Feel the grief just wash away, into her stony banks and far away.
The tune of the flute calls to you a call from the wild,
His strong hooves racing through the grounds beating rhythmically,
His call is cascading to you on sweet winds of nature.
He looks for you at the edge of the forest, his solemn gaze,
Inviting you to come play and revel in the richness of life.
Allow his tune to whisper to your pained heart,
Feel it whisk away on the spring breeze, cleansed by the sun.
Delight in the old ways, the cycles of life are ever turning,
Be happy and dance and feel the beat of the land pulsing beneath your feet.
The call of nature it calls to you, your soul yearning,
Be silent and let nature drift you away to a faraway land.
A land where dreams and magick of the fay call to you,
A land so distant that ever the mundane has no power.
You are and forever more beautiful and magical, she calls to you,
Listen to the sound of your heart and feel its beating with the wild.
A tune that takes you deeper where you are empowered by the land,
The sounds of nature is the music of the soul, forever deepening.
By fire, wind, water and air you are born, forged in her loving hands,
From out of nothingness, sculptured and formed into the beauty you are.
By his hands he walks with his beloved through the cycles of life,
Ever turning as their role play of romance and love are played out.
A symphony of love played through the ages, love perfectly entwined,
Ever since the beginning of time, a love that transcends the ages.
Blessed be the goddess, for her love and nurturing, power and protection,
Blessed be the god, whose light and solar glory, sets our hearts free.
