The waste-ground hour

poem by: Alice Inwonderland
Written on Apr 24, 2016

A little boy grows up,
Not knowing what's to come,
Throwing stones upon the waste-ground,
Yes, he has only just begun.

A little girl grows up,
Not knowing what's to come,
Tying ribbons beside the waste-ground,
Yes, she has only just begun.

Two little lakes will join as one,
An ocean they will form,
The little girl and little boy,
Grown older, now have worn.

Two kids no more, two adults at war,
What destiny casts such power?
A destroyer who reeks such evil deeds,
To kill that waste-ground hour.

An older man lays down,
Not knowing what's to come,
Eyes gazing through the window,
Yes, he has only come undone.

An older woman lays down,
Not knowing what's to come,
Sleeping through her window,
Yes, she has only come undone.

Two kids no more, two adults at war,
What destiny casts such power?
A destroyer who reeks such evil deeds,
To kill that waste-ground hour.

Q. Ramirez commented:
Some relationships end that way, but remember there are many fish in the different oceans. Just don't mix fresh water with salt water. I believe I wrote something similar, I just used that analogy of mixing different waters. Good poem.
Edward shields commented:
