When?

                          When?

Here comes that big black dude again
You know the one that is always beating up on me
Says because I’m white and I Was a black slave owner (WAS)

Approaching me with hatred in his eyes
Moving aside, everyone in the school hall know his intentions
Like them I also know what to expect

I say to myself -
“ When have I ever owned somebody ?
   I don’t even own myself.”

So I talk to my owner saying -
“ Lawd, please let'em walk by don’t let ‘em stop to hit me you know I hurt easy”

My voice doesn’t reach up fast enough and he hits me
Says because I’m white and I Was a black slave owner (WAS)
But I still can’t remember when I emancipated anyone?
